Maxton Design Rear Diffuser Installation Guide: Perfectly install the rear valance with mounting tabs
A rear diffuser (rear valance) from Maxton Design provides a sporty, distinctive rear and the perfect finish for your body kit. The version described here features integrated mounting lugs distributed across the entire width of the component. These engage directly with the original click-in receptacles of your bumper.
In this universal installation guide, we show you how to precisely align the diffuser and securely fasten it so that it remains absolutely stable even at high speeds on the highway.

🛠️ Preparation & Important Notes
Before you start the conversion, please note the following key points:
-
Rear Bumper Type: This guide specifically applies to Maxton diffusers equipped with mounting lugs rather than just a smooth adhesive surface.
-
Removal Recommended: To reach and secure all click points cleanly, we strongly recommend removing the entire rear bumper from the vehicle.
-
Teamwork: Again, it's always more precise with two people, and the risk of paint scratches drops to zero.

🔧 Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Disassemble original diffuser & mark contours
-
Disassemble the original, factory-installed rear diffuser from the bumper.
-
Place the new Maxton Design rear diffuser temporarily and check the fit very carefully. Pay particular attention to the corners, curves, and bends.
-
If everything fits perfectly, take high-quality masking tape and outline (mark) the exact contour of the new diffuser on the bumper. This will serve as a perfect guide for you.

Step 2: Finally insert the diffuser
Now firmly insert the Maxton Design rear diffuser into the rear bumper. Orient yourself precisely along the lines you taped off with masking tape in Step 1.

Step 3: Secure mounting lugs from the inside
Turn the disassembled bumper over so you can see the inside.
-
The mounting lugs (Wypusty) of the diffuser must now be clearly visible from the inside of the bumper.
-
Carefully check that all mounting lugs are completely and correctly clicked through the original openings of the bumper.
-
The mechanical securing: Now screw a securing screw (Wkręt) into each mounting lug. These screws act like a wedge/expansion anchor and reliably prevent the lugs from slipping out of the bumper under vibration or wind pressure.
💡 Vehicle-specific note: Please note that this is the general instruction for the lug system. Depending on the specific vehicle model (e.g., for certain Audi RS or BMW M models), additional, vehicle-specific steps may be necessary for reflectors, sensors, or exhaust tailpipes.
