TÜV report & installation assistance
TÜV & Registration: Safe and legal on the road
Tuning is only fun if you don't have to worry about the next police check. At Bodykit-Shop.at, we focus on certified safety.
What does "TÜV parts certificate" mean? Our Maxton Design products are delivered with a valid TÜV parts certificate . This is an official document from a recognized testing institute (e.g., TÜV Austria or TÜV Rheinland) that confirms that the component (e.g., the front lip) has been safety-tested and meets the material standards.
Do I need to register the part? Yes. A parts certificate is the perfect basis for trouble-free registration in the vehicle documents.
-
The procedure: After installation, you take the installed part and the supplied red certificate booklet to a testing center (in Austria, for example, civil engineers or state government / in Germany, TÜV, Dekra, KÜS).
-
The inspection: The inspector only checks whether the part is firmly and securely mounted (installation inspection).
-
The result: Thanks to the expert report, this approval is usually just a formality. Afterwards, the change is legally entered into your vehicle documents.
Installation tips for your body kit
To ensure your new look stays perfectly in place even at high speeds, proper installation is crucial. Our Maxton Design parts are known for their precise fit, but there are still a few professional tips to keep in mind:
-
Dry run: Before gluing or screwing, hold the part against the vehicle. Check that it fits perfectly. Completely remove dirt and grease from the contact points (we recommend isopropanol or silicone remover).
-
The protective film: Many Maxton parts come with a thin protective film. Important: Only remove this after complete assembly! It protects the high-gloss finish from scratches caused by tools during installation.
-
Mounting: We usually supply the appropriate mounting hardware.
-
Front lips and side skirts: These are usually screwed on (through the underside of the bumper). For maximum hold, we also recommend using body adhesive (e.g., Sikaflex or Betalink) on the contact surfaces.
-
Rear diffusers: These are often clicked into place or screwed onto the original mounting points.
-
Spoiler caps: These are attached using strong 3M tape. The surface must be absolutely grease-free and warm (do not mount below 15°C!).
-
-
Curing time: Give the adhesive time. Do not wash the car for 24-48 hours after installation and avoid high-speed driving until it is fully cured.
