🛠️ Tools & Preparation
For the best result, ensure the following conditions are met:
-
Vehicle condition: The car must be absolutely clean and dry before installation.
-
Tools: Cordless screwdriver, appropriate mounting kit (self-tapping screws), tape measure/folding rule, white marker pen, fine saw/cutting tool (for cutting out).
-
Our recommendation: Use a lift or stable jack stands and work with two people.

🔧 The Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Mark and cut out the jacking point recess
To ensure you can still safely lift your vehicle after installation (e.g., for tire changes in spring/autumn), it is highly recommended to cut out the jacking points.
-
Pull a tape measure along the side skirt and mark a point 2 cm from the end.
-
Measure 45 to 48 cm further along the side skirt from this point and make the second mark.
-
Repeat this process at the other end of the side skirt.
-
Connect the points to form a straight line on the inside of the extension.
-
Cutting out: Carefully cut out the marked area to expose the original jacking point. Repeat this for the second side skirt.

Step 2: Check driving direction & test fit
At the ends of the Maxton side skirts, small arrows are embossed. These indicate the forward driving direction.
-
Remove the protective film from the side skirts.
-
Hold the parts under the side skirts of your car (arrows must point forward).
-
Important: The extension must be absolutely flush with the wheel arch at both ends. It must neither protrude into the wheel arch nor end before it.

Step 3: Safety check & initial fixation
⚠️ Important safety note: Before inserting the screws, always check the inside of the original vehicle sill! Make sure that no cables, wires, hoses or sensors are running there that could be damaged by the screws. Then fix the side skirt extension to the vehicle with an initial two screws to secure it against slipping in its final position.

Step 4: Final screwing
Now firmly screw the extension along its entire length to the vehicle sill.
-
Ensure an even spacing of the mounting screws of 20 to 25 cm from each other.
-
Once all screws are tight, the installation is complete! Done.
